SummaryExcel
is widely used for data analysis in academics and Industry. It is very simple
and efficient tool to carry out small and complicated estimations. This course aims to impart the students
the working knowledge of excel with an aim to equip them for handling various kinds
of data. It also introduces the statistical tools available in excel which can
be effectively used for carrying out basic data analysis for cross section and
time series data. The course starts with basic operations in excel and then
extends to estimation of descriptive statistics, correlation and regression. The
course is designed keeping in mind of learners who have very little functional
knowledge of Excel and those who like to easily do basic data analysis with
Excel. The course is useful for students and researchers for analyzing the data
of projects. Objectives To Discuss the basic operations in ExcelTo train the students to use statistical functions in Excel To discuss the uses of Pivot table optionsTo demonstrate how to estimate regression and trend lines.
